Interview with Bobby J. Chastain, a Navy veteran, concerning his experiences as a survivor of the sinking of the destroyer Johnston during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944. Chastain also discusses the Marshall Islands invasion, the Carolines invasion, the Marianas invasion, Truk, and the Battle of Samar. Appendix includes a photocopy of Bobby J. Chastain's pre-interview information for the University of North Texas [1 leaf] and a photocopy of a typed account from a spiral-bound book(?) of Chastain's experiences on the USS Johnston on October 25, 1944 [4 leaves]
